No Android Ice Cream Sandwich On Xperia X10 But…

For you who own  Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, is “unlikely” to enjoy the experience of using the Ice Cream Sandwich (Android OS 4.0) on your phone. Sony Ericsson via their twitter account announced officially that they will not update the phone to Android 4.0.

They said, updates made only to the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread and has been done several months ago. Xperia X10 is a mobile phone from Sony Ericsson that was originally launched with Android OS 1.6 Donut. Furthermore, they do an update to Android 2.1 Eclair few months after the phone launch.

With 1 GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset this phone should be able to run ICS but no reasons given by Sony Ericsson why they did not create the ICS upgrade.

So don’t expect the existence of new Android on this phone. Obviously this is very disappointing, considering the Xperia X10 already on the market since 2009.

But in theory the ICS will be given to other Gingerbread phones or usually available custom “unofficial” ROM for Xperia family.
