Google has just announced its financial statements for the fourth quarter of 2011. Along with the report, the Internet giant disclose how many Android devices are used around the world.
According to the CEO of Google, Larry Page, currently there are 250 million Android devices have been activated. This number increased by 50 million from November 2011 to further strengthen the dominance of Android in the smartphone market.
Every day, an average of 700 thousand Android devices are enabled. Until now as much as 11 billion times Android users have downloaded apps in Android Market. Page himself convinced that Google can continue to gain profit as Android popularity skyrocket.
Page which is one of the Google founders with Sergey Brin also talking about Google’s acquisition of Motorola. He stated Motorola would remain a separate business and applied just like any other Android vendors. Google reported its total revenues from various lines of business to reach $ 10.58 billion in the fourth quarter of 2011. This is a 25% surge from the same period the previous year.
